While your platelets are mainly responsible for clotting, they also contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors. During a PRP therapy, Dr. Amir draws your blood and, using a centrifuge, separates out your platelets to create a concentrate. He then takes the concentrate, mixes it in with your plasma, and injects it back into your body in the areas you want to treat. The concentrate of platelets speeds up healing and regeneration in the area thanks to the growth factors.
